an intruder outside his bedroom door accidentally shot his pregnant wife. This
shooting occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday at home in Stuart. The man claimed
he didn't realize his wife was not in the room. He called 911 and claimed he
accidentally shot his wife. The man gave an in-depth statement, stating that he
awoke in the middle of the night and thought he heard someone in the house. He
investigated with a handgun and saw a shape in the hallway. Then, he fired one
round, which was his wife. The woman was pronounced dead at a hospital, and
